Dear Parkside, November 10, 2011 Due to the extreme overcrowding on Sundays at Parkside we the clients of Parkside here by submit a petition demanding change to the current policies that create a situation which is unsafe, unhealthy and unproductive to sobriety. We believe that with the current state of affairs in our country highlighting corrupt business practices being what it is, Parkside is showing us they are not here to help us but to profit from us. This clearly delineates them as being part of the problem, not the solution. We all came here for help. We understand change does not happen overnight. We are a large community of people who are attempting to put in balance our lives, which have been affected by our drug abuse. Being forced into a room to wait an hour before the nurses can medicate us on Sunday because the business hours are inadequate achieves nothing toward our goals, is contrary to the mission statement of Parkside and an insult to everyone in that room, security included. We ask that: 1. Everyone’s case is looked at for consideration for take homes. 2. Business Hours on Sunday are extended to 1:30pm so people have time to get to Parkside AND worship at their chosen church. 3. A supervisor is on staff Sundays to deal with situations that may arise. 4. Have at the least 3 medication windows open at all times. Sincerely, The Clients of Parkside Recovery
